With 10 years of clinical experience in physical therapy, Dr. Flaherty has a strong skillset and welcoming bedside manner. She began her Doctorate in Physical Therapy internship in 2012. She graduated Summa Cum Laude (4.0) with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Governors State in 2014. She is an Orthopedic Certified Specialist, OCS. Dr. Flaherty has subspecialties in treating her patients with Graston Technique and Dry Needling.
The focus of Dr. Flaherty's care is to treat each patient in an integrative and holistic manner. She believes in getting to the root of the problem, not simply minimizing symptoms.
Physical therapy is her passion for many reasons including: her love of anatomy, belief in the body's natural ability to heal, and helping others reach their goals by living a healthy lifestyle.
When Dr. Flaherty is not working or studying, what she enjoys the most is spending time with her family. She has three adult children, two dogs, and three granddogs. She also spends time gardening and swimming in her pool during the warm weather months. She loves to hike and workout. She has run marathons, triathlons, weight training, yoga, and kickboxing. You also may catch her out eating, listening to live music, and dancing with friends!
