Acupuncture and Energy Therapy Eliminate Patient's Sciatica Pain
As noted in Kimberly's biography, she is very experienced in pain management. Before she founded Holistic Health Care Centers, one of her patients agreed to be interviewed regarding his complete elimination of sciatica pain. Prior to his acupuncture and Healing Touch treatments, he often missed work and was basically bedridden due to the pain. After only two treatments, his sciatica pain was completely gone. He received his treatments over one year ago. He is still completely pain and symptom free from sciatica.
"The Effect of Healing Touch on the Pain and Mobility of Persons with Osteoarthritis: a Feasibility Study" by LuDF et al is an informative study that looked at the benefits of Healing Touch in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis!
"Two pain outcome measures (intensity and life interference) produced significant interaction effects. Two joint outcome measures (extension and extensor lag) also produced significant interaction effects. Furthermore, the HT group demonstrated significant improvements in 9 of the 12 outcome variables (75%) while no significant improvements occurred in the FV group. The HT group exhibited sustained effects (3 weeks post treatments) in three outcome variables. The reduction in joint pain and improvement in joint function suggest that biofield therapies could be effective non-pharmacological adjuncts to treatment of OA."
A study, Acupuncture Stops Pain via Brain Pathways by Healthcare Medicine Institute researched the mechanism of acupuncture's effect on carpel tunnel syndrome.
"Another study focusing on acupuncture’s ability to reduce carpal tunnel pain discovered a brain pathway by which acupuncture exerts its therapeutic results. The researchers measured brain responses to neuropathic pain using fMRI technology. Acupuncture caused significant activation of the hypothalamus and greater deactivation of the amygdala. The researchers concluded that acupuncture benefits chronic pain sufferers “through a coordinated limbic network including the hypothalamus and amygdala.” Click here to read more!
A study, "Auricular Point Acupressure for Chronic Low Back Pain: A Feasibility Study for 1-Week Treatment" showed over 50% reduction in LBP within 1 week. Pain was reduced simply by having pressure applied to specific points on patients' ears. Auricular acupressure done by a trained professional can significantly reduce or fully stop LBP.
